A three-tier choir platform that flips flat, rolls aside and stands up in a corner. The Nova Riser is built from a hollow blow-moulded HDPE shell — light enough for two people to reposition, solid enough for a full choir to stand on.

  • Three tiers, 1250 mm wide per unit — join units to match your stage width
  • Each tier flips down to form one continuous flat platform
  • Recessed handholds and rear castors — push this portable choir riser into place instead of lifting
  • Folds down to 1250 × 800 × 625 mm and sits against a wall
  • Hollow blow-moulded HDPE shell with polypropylene connectors
  • 11 anti-slip strips per tread — plain ribbing, or with a music-note motif on each tier
  • Six colours: blue, grey, green, orange, red, yellow
  • Free delivery islandwide

Where it goes

School halls and music rooms, choir and choral practice spaces, training and seminar rooms that need a raised platform, churches, community venues, and event spaces that reconfigure between setups.

Who it is for

  • Primary and secondary schools — a stage that goes up for assembly and away before PE
  • International schools — modular units sized to the hall, stored in a service corridor
  • Preschools and kindergartens — a low first tier children can step onto unaided
  • Music rooms and school halls — 1250 mm or 625 mm units combined to span the front of the room
  • Churches and community venues — a portable choir riser for weekly and seasonal services
  • Event and performance spaces — flat stage or stepped tiers, changed between hire bookings

Built to be moved

The shell is hollow blow-moulded HDPE (high-density polyethylene), with a 50 mm load-bearing leg panel and walls of 28 mm or more. Connectors are injection-moulded polypropylene, joined by internal clips and mortise joints, with external links and countersunk screws — so there are no steel brackets sitting proud of the surface where a heel or a shin can catch them.

Each tier can be flipped down independently. Fold all three and the unit becomes a single flat platform for a small stage; leave one up and it reads as a two-tier riser. When the room has to be cleared, the unit tips onto its edge and stands against a wall.

Indoor air quality

The shell has been tested for formaldehyde emission by a CNAS-accredited laboratory in China (report 202333675, July 2023). Emission was not detected against a limit of 0.05 mg/m³ — worth knowing in a music room where children spend an hour at a time with the air-conditioning closed.

Colours and tread

Blue and grey keep a hall neutral through the year; green and yellow read warmer for primary levels; orange and red suit event and festival use.

The tread comes two ways. Plain ribbing is the one for secondary schools, junior colleges, churches and corporate venues. With music notes puts a motif on each tier — a better fit for primary and kindergarten rooms, where the furniture is part of the teaching. Any mix of colours and treads can ship in one order.

Configurations

The same unit covers four setups. Nothing is bolted down, and nothing has to be stored separately.

  • Three tiers — the standard choral setup, treads at 209.5, 415.5 and 625 mm above the floor
  • Two tiers — the top tier stays folded back when you only need a low platform
  • Flat stage — every tier flips down to one continuous platform, 1600 mm deep and 312 mm high
  • Joined rows — units sit side by side on their polypropylene connectors to match your stage width; 1250 mm and 625 mm units can be mixed in one row

Each unit is 1250 mm or 625 mm wide. Tread finish is plain ribbing or a music-note motif, and colour is chosen per unit, so a row can be uniform or mixed.

How many units do you need?

One unit is 1250 mm wide and gives three tiers. A typical school choir platform is built from several units joined side by side. Tell us the headcount and the width of the space you are filling and we will work out the configuration, rather than have you guess from a plan drawing.

Delivery, projects and bulk orders

Fitting out a hall? These pair with our height-adjustable student desks and student chairs.

Lead time is three to five weeks from order confirmation. Risers are built to order rather than held in stock, so the clock starts when the order and colour selection are confirmed, not when you enquire. If you are working to a fixed date — a concert, a term start, an inspection — tell us before you commit and we will confirm in writing whether it can be met.

Free delivery islandwide, handled by us. Every unit carries a two-year warranty, and the local delivery is ours to manage — if something needs attention, you deal with Newstar, not a freight forwarder. We supply schools, training centres, churches and commercial venues across Singapore, and can quote against a purchase order.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can one unit hold?

The unit is rated at 2,000 kg in the manufacturer's mechanical strength test — far beyond a full choir — but how many people it holds in practice depends on how many tiers you use, how the units are joined, and whether the users are children or adults. Send us the headcount and we will specify the number of units — we would rather size it for your room than quote a figure that does not match your hall.

What are the dimensions?

The 1250 mm unit measures 1250 × 1200 × 625 mm with three tiers, each tread 400 mm deep and rising 210 / 205 / 210 mm. Flipped flat it becomes 1250 × 1600 × 312 mm — four 400 mm deep panels laid in a row; folded for storage, 1250 × 800 × 625 mm. The 625 mm unit is half the width at the same depth and height.

Can it be used as a flat stage instead of a riser?

Yes. All three tiers flip down to form one continuous platform, so the same unit works as a low stage for a soloist, a panel discussion or a prize-giving.

How do you store it when not in use?

All three tiers fold down and the unit compresses to 1250 × 800 × 625 mm, so it sits against a wall at roughly knee-to-waist height rather than needing a storage room. Rear castors let you roll it into position instead of carrying it.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The moulded shell resists water and does not delaminate, but we supply it for indoor and covered outdoor use. We have not tested it for prolonged direct sun or rain, so we will not claim it.

What does the warranty cover?

Two years. Delivery is handled by us locally, so a warranty claim is a phone call to Newstar rather than a shipment back to a factory.

How long is delivery?

Three to five weeks from order confirmation. The units are made to order, not taken off a shelf, so the lead time starts once the order and colours are confirmed. If you have a fixed date to hit, tell us before ordering and we will confirm in writing whether it can be met.

Can I order in bulk for a school or a project?

Yes. Send the quantity, colours, headcount and delivery date through WhatsApp at +65 9070 7707 or to admin@newstar.sg. Mixed colours in one order are fine, and we can deliver to multiple rooms.
